Current global food systems cannot provide a sustainable, healthy diet for the world’s growing population. Our dietary preferences for livestock-based food contributes to huge greenhouse gas emissions. Biotechnology can deliver sustainable solutions by transforming the food and agricultural sector.

A group of specialized medical device and pharmaceutical players have come together in order to form Cell AgriTech. We are primarily focused on scaling up and manufacturing, which is our primary expertise. We aim to be one of the most cost-efficient cultivated meat companies in the world.

Cultivated meat is produced using tissue engineering techniques. We start by taking a sesame-seed sized sample of cells and nurturing them to naturally grow into meat. No growth hormones, antibiotic-free, devoid of zoonotic diseases. This makes our meat healthier.

In Cell AgriTech, we have taken on the responsibility of powering our bioreactor with solar energy.

The plan is to make our factory ready for cultivated meat at the end of 2024. Our goal is to produce cultivated meat at a cost of less than USD 10 per kilogram, which is the price we aim to achieve.

We are creating meat using the state-of-the art biotechnology by growing it directly from animal cells, to meet our desires, align with our values and nourish our body.

Unlike plant-based meat alternatives, which use various additives mixed with plant protein to mimic the taste and texture of real meat, cultivated meat is produced using animal-derived cells, almost entirely decoupling meat from livestock. Cultivated meat is produced from the same cells as conventional meat and can provide an exact replica of the real thing.

1st: The Best Source

Like a farmer who selects the healthiest and best steers for the butcher, we pick and screen the healthiest cows and cells for our meat via simple biopsy. Instead of heading for the freezer, the cows are free to roam the fields once we’ve collected a sample of cells.

2nd: Grown Naturally

The finest livestock start their journey on a free-range farm. They grow stronger with natural food and environment, so that’s exactly what we provide for our cells. Cells are placed in a bioreactor, and we induce these cells to grow and proliferate. Lots of nutrients, vitamins, a comfy climate and fresh air.

3rd: Nurtured Carefully

As nature takes its course, the cells we started with grow to become fully fledged muscle and fat, just like they would inside a cow. The cells rapidly divide, they will be moved through a series of larger and larger bioreactors. With enough care and attention, our meat soon reaches maturity.

4th: Taste

Animal fat is responsible for the distinct flavor and aroma of meat due to the production of complex polyaromatic hydrocarbons during grilling.

5th: Safety

Genetic modifications can introduce unintended mutations that increase risk of immunological reactions, so we avoided them entirely. Furthermore, no growth hormones, antibiotic-free, devoid of zoonotic diseases and sterile packaging. This makes our meat safer and healthier.

Studies have proposed that the nutritional composition of cultivated meat be altered to meet the needs of the consumer.

Omega-3 fatty acids could be added to cultivated meat as a health bonus. nutritional content of cultured meat with certain micronutrients specific to animal products (such as vitamin B12 and iron) and which contribute to good health can be controlled by adjusting fat composites used in the medium of production.

Indeed, the ratio between saturated fatty acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids can be easily controlled.

Cultivated meat is created in highly controlled conditions, which keeps bacteria and contaminants away. Intestinal bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, and Campylobacter cause diseases every year and are a risk for meat eaters. There can be also no contamination during slaughter since cultivated meat contains no digestive organs.

Another unintended consequence of cultivated meat is the lack of zoonotic diseases. Livestock raised in tight quarters is vulnerable to disease outbreaks such as influenza. Cultivated meat is free of the zoonotic illnesses that plague animals and the antibiotics that they are administered.

According to the CDC, millions of cases of annual illnesses associated with foodborne pathogens such as Salmonella, Campylobacter and Escherichia coli are reported that are attributed to traditional animal agricultural production practices. Carefully controlled conditions associated with cell-cultivated meat technology provide the potential to significantly reduce the spread of animal borne diseases.

Creates risk of another global pandemic spurred on by antibiotic resistant superbugs jumping from animals to humans.

Antibiotic resistance is of great public health concern because the antibiotic-resistant bacteria associated with the animals may be pathogenic to humans, easily transmitted to humans via food chains, and widely disseminated in the environment via animal wastes.

These may cause complicated, untreatable, and prolonged infections in humans, leading to higher healthcare cost and sometimes death.
